ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to reinstate the petitioner in the service as VAO, Pothampatti, Usilampatti Taluk, Madurai District in the same station, based on the petitioner's representation, dated 09.06.2024.

2. Heard Mr.S.Srikanth, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.Shanmugavel, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

4. The case of the petitioner is that when she was working as Village Administrative Officer, Pothampatti, Usilampati Taluk, a case was registered against her by the Department of Vigilance and AntiCorruption, Theni District in Crime No.12 of 2023, based on the complaint given by one Muthupeyathevar, on the allegation that she 2/6

demanded a sum of Rs.9,000/- (Rupees Nine Thousand only) for transfer of patta in his son's name. Hence, complaint was given and trap was set on 27.12.2023 and then she was arrested and placed under suspension by order dated 28.12.2023. Thereafter, the petitioner made a representation to the second respondent on 09.06.2024 in order to revoke her suspension, dated 28.12.2023 and the same has not been considered so far. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition.

5. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the representation of the petitioner dated 09.06.2024 would be considered by the respondent within a time frame fixed by this Court.

6. In the light of the above submission, there shall be a direction to the respondent herein to pass final orders on the representation of the petitioner, dated 09.06.2024 on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not 3/6

gone into the merits of the claim of the petitioner and it is open to the respondent to consider the same on its own merits.

7. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
