O R D E R

This Writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent i.e., the Agricultural Production Commissioner and Principal Secretary to Government, Chennai, to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representations, dated 05.12.2016 and 12.03.2017, regarding intimating the TNPSC to include M.Sc., (Ag) - Horticulture degree also eligible for direct recruitment to the post of Assistant Director of Horticulture as per G.O.Ms.No.750 Agriculture (AA) Department, dated 18.04.1983 within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and

the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

3. Mr.J.Gunaseelan Muthaiah, learned Government Advocate, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the Writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

4. Having regard to the limited scope of the prayer in the Writ petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's case, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction:- "The respondent is directed to consider the representations of the petitioner, dated 05.12.2016 and 12.03.2017, and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
