ORDER

The writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1 to 5 Respondents to permit petitioner to conduct Lighting Festival in the eve of Karthigai Deepam in Soottupothai Lingeswarar Temple stiuated on the top of the Sootupothai Mountain, Near Eruvadi, Vallioor, Tirunelveli District on 29.11.2020 and to give adequate Police Protection, based on his representation, dated 18.11.2020.

2.When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 5, on instructions, would submit that the prayer in this writ petition has become infructuous and hence, nothing survives for further adjudication.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the sixth respondent would submit that the temple festival has already been over. 4.Recording the said submission, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
