Respondents PRAYER : Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first and second respondents i.e., the Secretary to Government, Food, Cooperative & Consumer Protection Department, Chennai and the Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Chennai, to take action for finalizing the proceedings initiated in No.R.C.933/2014/CP, dated 27.07.2015, by the Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Ramanathapuram, under Section 82 of the Co-operative Societies Act, 1983, within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court so that the petitioner can get his retirement benefits without further loss of time.

O R D E R
This Writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first and second respondents i.e., the Secretary to Government, Food, Co-operative & Consumer Protection Department, Chennai and the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Chennai, to take action for finalizing the proceedings initiated in No.R.C.933/2014/CP, dated 27.07.2015, by the Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Ramanathapuram, under Section 82 of the Co-operative Societies Act, 1983, within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court so that the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
petitioner can get his retirement benefits without further loss of time.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
3.Mr.C.Selvaraj, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the Writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
4. Having regard to the limited scope of the prayer in the Writ petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction:- "The respondents 1 and 2 are directed to finalize the proceedings initiated in No.R.C.933/2014/CP, dated 27.07.2015, by the Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Ramanathapuram, under section 82 of the Cooperative Societies Act, 1983, and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
