This criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the third respondent to the complete the investigation in Crime No.540 of 2022 and file the final report.
.The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that for the past two years, the investigation agency has not conducted investigation and filed final report.
.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submits that the investigation agency has collected some materials and enquired about the incident with the first accused. However, the first accused has committed suicide with the allegation that the respondent police is harassing him. Therefore, the respondent police is reluctant in conducting the investigation.

.The police officers, while discharging their duties, if anything happens, they should not be reluctant. If any body commits suicide or anything happens, the police officers should not be demoralised and afraid from doing their work. This Court is of the opinion that the police officer is not answerable for the accused, who has committed suicide or attempting to commit suicide. The respondent police is also duty bound to find out the jewels lost by the defacto complainant.
.Therefore, this Court expects the respondent police to complete the investigation and file a final report, within a period of two months, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
.With the above direction, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
