ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the Mahila Court, Pudukkottai to expeditiously complete the trail and pronounce judgment in S.C.No. 87 of 2019 pending before the Mahila Court, Pudhukkottai.

2.The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the case has been registered in Crime No.26 of 2019, for the offence punishable under Section 302 IPC, against the accused person for having murdered one Mahalakshmi. After investigation, final report has been filed before the Mahila Court, Pudhukkottai and the same was taken on file as S.C.No. 87/2019, which is still pending for more than two years without any progress. Hence this petition has been filed.

3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submitted that in this case, so far two witnesses have been examined and the case is posted on 01.08.2022 for further examination of witnesses. 4.I have considered the submissions made by both the parties. 2/4

5.On a perusal of records, it is seen that the case in S.C.No. 87 of 2019 pending before the Mahila Court, Pudhukkottai, was posted for trial on 01.02.2020. Subsequently, the case was posted for evidence, on 13.07.2020. Thereafter, the case was periodically adjourned. Now, it is posted on 01.08.2022, for further examination of witnesses. 6.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the Mahila Court, Pudhukkottai, is directed to complete the trial in S.C.No. 87 of 2019, in accordance with law, within a period of two months, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7.With the above direction, this criminal original petition stands disposed of.
