PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C, calling for the records relating to the FIR in Crime No.207 of 2022 dated 24.04.2022 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Kottar Police Station, Kanyakumari District and quash the same as against the petitioner concerned.

O RDER This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to quash the First Information Report in Crime No.207 of 2022 dated 24.04.2022 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Kottar Police Station, Kanyakumari District

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner was engaged as a Kovil Poojari in the Sarakkalvilai Sri Pathrakaliamman Temple and he has never committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. He would further submit that this Court may issue a direction to the respondent Police to conclude the investigation as expeditiously as possible. He requests before this Court to produce all necessary documents before the Investigation Officer at the time of investigation.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the first respondent Police would submit that the investigation is going on.

5. In view of the above, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondent Police to conclude the 2/4

investigation within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after providing an opportunity to the petitioner.
