ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by N. ANAND VENKATESH,J.) This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed for a direction to the first and second respondents to secure the body or person of the detenu, who is the petitioner's husband and to set him at liberty.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

3. The case of the petitioner is that her husband had lent money to one Vijayakumar and he failed to repay back the money. Hence, the petitioner's husband went to the place of the said Vijayakumar in order to recover the money on 12.05.2026. However, from 13.05.2026 onwards, the whereabouts of the petitioner's husband were not able to be ascertained in spite of the best efforts made by the petitioner. Hence, a complaint was

given before the second respondent, based on which, a man missing FIR has been registered in Crime No.214 of 2026. Since no effective steps were taken to ascertain the whereabouts of the petitioner's husband, the present petition has been filed before this Court.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the nature of grievance expressed by the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to follow the guidelines given by this Court in the case of K. Sukumari Vs. The Superintendent of Police, Virudhunagar District, Virudhunagar, reported in 2018(2) -L.W. (Crl) -636 and proceed with the case and find the whereabouts of the detenu as expeditiously as possible.
