This Writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent i.e., the Director of Social Welfare, Chennai to pass appropriate orders on the proposals sent by the District Collector, Thoothukudi in his letter No.K2/28823/2013, dated 05.05.2014 regarding equating the petitioner's pay on par with his junior Thiru.Narasimman, Superintendent, Special Commissioner, Integrated Child Development Scheme, Tharamani, Chennai, within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. Mr.C.Selvaraj, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the Writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

4. Having regard to the limited scope of the prayer that is now sought before this Court by the learned counsel for the petitioner, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's case, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction:- "The first respondent is directed to pass appropriate orders on the proposals sent by the District Collector, Thoothukudi, in his letter No.K2/28823/2013, dated 05.05.2014, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt a copy of this order."
