O R D E R

This Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus has been filed to quash the order dated 11.08.2016 passed by the respondent and consequently direct the respondent to grant renewal of stage carriage permit TMN 7537, plying on the route, Virudhunagar Bus Stand to Peraiyur Government High School for the period from 21.02.2012 to 20.02.2017.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondent. 3.By the impugned order dated 11.08.2016, the Regional Transport Authority, Madurai, rejected the request made by the petitioner for renewal of stage carriage permit for the period from 21.02.2012 to 20.02.2017. Even though this order is under challenge in this Writ petition, the learned counsel for the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

petitioner would submit that the petitioner has preferred an appeal before the State Transport Appellate Tribunal, which is pending in Appeal No.144 of 2016.

4.The grievance of the petitioner is that the State Transport Appellate Tribunal has not disposed of the Appeal and there must be a direction to the Appellate Tribunal to dispose of the Appeal within a time limit to be fixed by this Court. 5.Under the stated circumstances, the State Transport Appellate Tribunal is directed to dispose of Appeal No.144 of 2016 within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
