Respondents PRAYER: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 i.e., the Principal Secretary to Government, Co-operation Food and Consumer Protection Department, Chennai and the Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Chennai to take further action on the petitioner's pension proposals sent by the Joint Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Nagapattinam in his letter No.R.C.2717/2009/A1, dated 20.12.2016 by sending it to the Accountant General, Chennai within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

This Writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2, i.e., the Principal Secretary to Government, Co-operation Food and Consumer Protection Department, Chennai and the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Chennai to take further action on the petitioner's pension proposals sent by the Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Nagapattinam in his letter No.R.C.2717/2009/A1, dated 20.12.2016 by sending it to the Accountant General, Chennai within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. Mr.C.Selvaraj, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the Writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
4. Having regard to the limited scope of the prayer that is now sought before this Court by the learned counsel for the petitioner, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's case, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction:- "The respondents are directed to take further action on the petitioner's pension proposals sent by the Joint Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Nagapattinam in his letter No.R.C.2717/2009/A1, dated 20.12.2016 by sending it to the Accountant General, Chennai, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt a copy of this order."
