ORDER

This petition has been filed to direct the respondent police to complete the investigation in Crime No.489/2018 dated 04.10.2018 on the file of the West Police Station, Kovilpatti and direct the respondent to file the final report before the learned Jurisdictional Court within a stipulated time that may be fixed by this Court.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that due to personal enmity, one Esakkiraja falsely implicated the petitioner in the sand theft case. Based on the complaint, the respondent police registered a case in Crime No.489 of 2018 for the offence under Section 379 I.P.C and Section 21(1) of Mines and Minerals (Development & Regulation) Act, 1957. The grievance of the petitioner is that so far, the respondent police has not filed final report. Hence, the present petition.

4.Considering the submissions made on either side, the respondent police is directed to complete the investigation and file the final report within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
