This is a writ of mandamus seeking direction to the the respondent to fix the seniority of the Petitioner and promote him as a Special Sub-Inspector of Police.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate for the respondent. 3.Seeking such a relief, representation dated 25.08.2015 is claimed to have been submitted to the Superintendent of Police, Sivagangai District.

4.The learned Government Advocate for the respondent would submit that because of currency of punishment, his promotion was not considered and in fact, it should not be considered by the respondent. She has also submitted that it is not known whether such representation has been received by the respondent. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 5.However, the details of the punishment suffered and the nature of punishment is not available before this Court. Under

such circumstances, the petitioner is directed to submit a fresh copy of the representation, dated 25.08.2015 before the respondent and the respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, in the light of the punishment suffered by the petitioner and to pass orders on merits and in accordance with law.
