Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to settle the petitioner's surrender leave salary for 132 days in respect of the years 2011-2023 together with interest at the rate of 18 percent per annum payable from the date for retirement to till the date of actual payment.

ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed by a retired Assistant Manager of the respondent Transport Corporation, seeking disbursement of the earned leave and surrender leave salary along with interest.

2. Though the petitioner has retired on 30.06.2023, the earned leave and surrender leave salary have not been disbursed to the writ petitioner, despite giving representation to the respondents on 26.04.2025, for disbursing the said benefits. Since the representation has not been considered, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.

4. Considering the above said facts, the respondents herein are directed to release the eligible earned leave and surrender leave salary upon the writ petitioner along with interest at the rate of 6% p.a., from the due date till the date of disbursement, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

5. With the above said directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
