O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to settle the petitioner's surrender leave salary for 135 days in respect of the years 2011 - 2023 together with interest at the rate of 18% per annum payable from the date of retirement to till the date of actual payment.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. Though the petitioner has retired on 30.06.2023, the surrender leave salary has not been disbursed to the writ petitioner, despite giving representation to the respondent on 23.04.2025, for disbursing the said benefits. Since the representation has not been considered, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. Considering the above said facts, the respondent herein is directed to release the eligible surrender leave salary upon the writ 2/4

petitioner along with interest at the rate of 6% p.a., from the due date till the date of disbursement, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
