PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent i.e., the Director of Municipal Administration, Chennai to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's appeal dated 04.07.2021, within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

O R D E R

The Writ Petition is filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent, the Director of Municipal Administration, Chennai to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's appeal dated 04.07.2021, within a specified time fixed by this Court.

2. According to the petitioner, he has preferred an appeal on 04.07.2021 as against the order passed in proceedings No.5171/2014/C2 dated 04.05.2021 by the Commissioner of Thoothukudi Municipal Corporation. The aforesaid appeal is still pending and no orders have been passed. Hence, he has filed the present Writ Petition before this Court.

3. The learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondent has submitted before this Court that if the said appeal submitted by the petitioner is in order, the same shall be considered in accordance with law as directed by this Court.

4. Considering the limited scope of the prayer and the submissions made by the counsel for the parties concerned, without expressing any opinion on merits, this court is inclined to direct https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P(MD). No.16639 of 2021 the respondent to consider the petitioner's appeal dated 04.07.2021 and pass orders on its own merits and in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
