PRAYER : Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to appoint the petitioner in the existing vacancy to the post of Town Planning Inspector in the light of the proposals sent by the 3rd Respondent in his proceedings in Na.Ka.No.4700/2012/A.1 dated 30.01.2013 to the 2nd respondent and in the light of the further representations dated 15.07.2016,27.09.2016 and 31.01.2017. This Writ petition has been filed by the petitioner, to direct the respondents to appoint the petitioner in the existing vacancy to the post of Town Planning Inspector in the light of the proposals sent by the 3rd Respondent in his proceedings in Na.Ka.No.4700/2012/A.1 dated 30.01.2013 to the 2nd respondent and in the light of the further representations dated 15.07.2016,27.09.2016 and 31.01.2017.
2. Heard the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.
3. Mr.J.Gunaseelan Muthiah, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the Writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
4. Though the Writ petition is for issuing a positive direction, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner will be satisfied if a direction is issued to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 15.07.2016,27.09.2016 and 31.01.2017.
5. Considering the limited scope of the request of the learned counsel for the Writ petitioner, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction:- "The respondent is directed to consider the representations of the petitioner, dated 15.07.2016, 27.09.2016 and 31.01.2017, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
