ORDER

The petitioner has come up with the above writ petition seeking for the issue of a writ of mandamus to direct the first respondent to consider and pass orders on the appeal preferred by the petitioner dated 17.09.2013 to set aside the punishment order passed by third respondent dated 08.03.2006.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mrs.S.Bharathi learned Government Advocate who takes notice for the respondents.

3.The petitioner is working as Police Constable, Grade-I, Batlagundu, Dindigul District. It is stated that on certain charges, disciplinary proceedings were initiated against him and imposed a punishment of postponement of increment for three years with cumulative effect. Aggrieved over the same, the petitioner has preferred an appeal before the second respondent which was also rejected. Thereafter, the petitioner filed an appeal before the first respondent on 17.09.2013 and the same is pending. Since no order has been passed so far, he has come up with the above writ petition.

4.Considering the fact that the appeal preferred by the petitioner is pending from 2013, the writ petition is disposed of directing the first respondent to consider the appeal dated 17.09.2013 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
