O R D E R

This petition has been filed to direct the respondent to expedite the investigation in Crime No.194 of 2021 dated 18.03.2021 and to file final report within a stipulated time as may be fixed by this Court.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the eye-witness in S.C.No.84 of 2019 which is pending before the Principal District Judge, Ramanathapuram and the accused persons gave a life threat to the petitioner. Based upon which, a complaint was preferred before the Principal District Judge, Ramanathapuram, which was forwarded to the respondent Police. Based upon which, a case has been registered for the offence under Sections 294(b), 195(A), 506(i) of IPC on 18.03.2021. He would further submit that even after a lapse of five months, there is no progress in this case.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent, on instructions, would submit that the investigation in Crime No. 194 of 2021 is almost completed and three months time may be granted to file a final report.

Crl.O.P.(MD)No.13613 of 2021 5.In view of the above submission, the respondent police is directed to file the final report within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and the compliance report must be submitted to the Registry thereafter. 6.With the above observations, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
