The writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to release the seized vehicle bearing Registration No.KL10AH 706, Chassis No.601144MWZPA 8038, Engine No.4751DT12MWZPA 6546 based on the petitioner's representation dated 29.08.2016.

2. Mr.K.P.Krishna Doss, learned Government Advocate, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3.When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that even though a larger relief is sought for, the petitioner would be satisfied, if a direction is issued to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 29.08.2016 and pass appropriate order on merits in a time bound manner.

4.Considering the limited scope of the prayer now sought for and without going into the merits of the matter, the first respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 29.08.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
