This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to sanction the old age monthly pension under Senior Citizen (Aged person, Widow) to the petitioner and consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.09.2016.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

3. By consent, the Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

4. The petitioner filed an application on 06.09.2016, before the first respondent/District Collector, for granting old age pension. The petitioner is a destitute widow and her son also died. She filed the application before the second respondent, since no order has been passed.

5. The learned Government Advocate for the second respondent submitted that the second respondent who is an competent authority to grant pension.

6. In the above circumstances, without going into the merits of the case, the second respondent/Tahsildar is directed to consider the petition and pass appropriate orders on merits in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above directions, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
