ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus to direct the respondents to remove the lock and seal of the petitioner's premises Door No.141/12/W2 situated at Unjampatti Village, Periyakulam Taluk, Theni District on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 15.04.2025.

The petitioner appears to the owner of the godown at Door No.141/12/W2 (Survey No.68/2), Unjampatti Village, Periyakulam Taluk, Theni District The petitioner has leased out the aforesaid premises to one R.Pethil Kumar, who had apparently smuggled 26660.680 Kilograms of PDS rice and 2 Chippam (50 Kgs) of wheat which were meant for distribution through the Public Distribution System. A FIR has been registered against the said R.Pethil Kumar in Crime No.55 of 2025, dated 19.03.2025 for offences under Rule 6(4) of the Tamil Nadu Schedule Commodities (RDCS) Order, 1982 and Section 7(1)(a)(ii) of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955. 2/5
3. The learned Government Advocate for the fourth respondent confirms that the petitioner is not an accused person in the aforesaid FIR registered against R.Pethil Kumar.

Considering the same, the first respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 15.04.2025 within a period of 15 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after due notice to the fourth respondent. In case the stock of seized rice and wheat has be to shifted out from the premises, it shall be shifted out and thereafter the property shall be handed over to the petitioner.
5. The writ petition stands disposed of with the above direction. There shall be no order as to costs.
