Prayer : Writ Petition, filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this court to issue Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's letter dated 18.05.2026 and to give adequate police protection to the Pattaval Samikal festival to be celebrated on 09.06.2026 and to the related events on 07.06.2026 and 08.06.2026.

ORDER
Seeking to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's letter dated 18.05.2026 and to give adequate police protection to the Pattaval Samikal festival to be celebrated on 09.06.2026 and to the related events on 07.06.2026 and 08.06.2026, this writ petition is filed.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner's representation is kept pending without consideration. Hence, this writ petition is filed.
3. The learned Government Advocate Mr.S.Arun Arockiasamy submitted that since the conduct of the said festival may cause law and order problems, the same is kept pending.
4. Per contra, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it is only a simple festival to be conducted, and even in the 2/5
earlier years, the said festival was conducted when neither law and order problem nor any complaint had arisen.
5. In view of the same, the respondent police is directed to provide adequate police protection for the conduct of the Pattaval Samikal festival on 09.06.2026 on payment of necessary guard charges in terms of G.O.Ms.No.139 Home (Pol.VIII) Dept. dated 04.03.2019.
6. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. 08.06.2026 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes/ No Sml Note: Issue order copy on 08.06.2026.
