Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the official respondents and the learned counsel appearing for the private respondents.

2. What is under challenge in this writ petition is the notice issued by the Revenue Divisional Officer, Kovilpatti, calling upon the members of ' A ' party and ' B ' party to appear for resolving the dispute between them amicably.

3. It is well settled that any decision taken in a peace meeting is not having any legal consequence. It cannot be enforced by law also. The impugned communication does not in any way affect the rights of the parties. It has only an advisory character. Leaving open the rights of the petitioner, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
