8. R.P.Murugesan ... Respondents Prayer: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to provide adequate police protection for smooth functioning of petitioner's Sangam, administered by the legally 1/3

elected present executive committee headed by the petitioner for the purpose of running the educational institutions as a nodal agency inclusive of claiming and providing salary to the teachers and other staffs etc., from the Government and also to manage and administer other activities of Sangam and to provide salary for the workers and staffs of the petitioner's Sangam, temples etc., and to enable the petitioner to initiate election process of the petitioner's Sangam for the next tenure 2021-2024 in terms of bye-laws of the petitioner's Sangam thereto.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the official respondents and the learned counsel appearing for the private respondents.

2. This writ petition has been filed for directing the official respondents to provide police protection for the smooth functioning of the writ petitioner's Sangam.

3. Unless the petitioner Sangam has an enforceable civil Court decree in its favour, the question of granting police protection will not arise. I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter. All the contentions of the petitioner are left open. This writ petition stands dismissed. No costs.
