Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents No.1 to 4 to ensure the equal participation of the petitioner and other Dalit Christians of Soosaiyapparpattinam in the annual church festival of St. Soosaiyappar Church and to prevent any practice of untouchability being practised against the petitioner and other Dalit Christians of the village by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 19.04.2017 within the time that may be stipulated by this Hon'ble Court.

ORDER

The petitioner has approached this Court seeking a direction to the respondents No.1 to 4 to ensure the equal participation of the petitioner and other Dalit Christians of Soosaiyapparpattinam https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

in the annual church festival of St.Soosaiyappar Church and to prevent any practice of untouchability being practised against the petitioner and other Dalit Christians of the village by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 19.04.2017 within a time frame.

2.When the matter was taken up for hearing, it is represented by the learned counsel for the parties that the authorities have convened a peace committee meeting and the petitioner was permitted to participate in the church festival. 3.In view of the same, nothing survives for consideration in this Writ Petition and therefore, the Writ Petition is closed. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions is also closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
