O R D E R The Criminal Original Petition has been filed, invoking Section 482 of Cr.P.C., seeking orders to direct the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Dindigul to expedite the trial in Spl.C.C.No.22 of 2014 and conclude the trial within the time stipulated by this Court. 1/4

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today (i.e.,03.08.2022), the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that it would be suffice, if the trial Court is directed to expedite the trial and dispose the case within the time stipulated by this Court. He would further submit that the case in Spl.C.C.No.22 of 2014 is pending from 2014 onwards.

3. The fact remains that the case was taken on file in the year 2014. The High Court has already issued circulars to the District Judiciary, directing the Courts to give priority for the cases relating to senior citizens, HIV affected persons, defence personnel, women and children etc., It is to be noted that the revision petitioner without approaching the concerned Court, has directly come forward with the present Petition before this Court, seeking early disposal. In the absence of total pendency particulars and the work burden of that particular Court, this Court is not inclined to give any direction to dispose of the case within a specified period of time. Generally, the Court is required to give priority to the cases, as per the circulars of this Court.

4. In view of the above, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the concerned Court and if such requisition is made, the learned Judge is 2/4

required to consider the same, in the light of the circulars issued by this Court for early disposal.

5. With the above observation and direction, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. No costs.
