2.The writ petitioner claims to have been born in Adi Dravidar community and subsequently converted to Buddhism. It is well settled that conversion to Buddhism will not take away one's status as belonging to Scheduled Caste.

3.The petitioner is permitted to submit a fresh application to the seventh respondent. Upon receipt of the same, the seventh respondent shall hold enquiry and dispose of the said application on merits and in accordance with law within a period of three months thereafter. We make it clear that we have not gone into the merits of the matter. If the petitioner is unable to avail the online facility, he is permitted to submit the application in person and the seventh respondent shall receive the same manually.
