The writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents 2 and 3 to provide necessary police protection during the festival of Arulmighu Muthumariamman Temple, Thathanoor Village, Marunkapuri Taluk, Trichy District, to be held from 21.05.2017 to 25.05.2017 and on 01.06.2017, in the light of the petitioner's representation, dated 22.04.2017.

2.Today, Mr.Manikandan, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Vallanadu Police Station, Trichy District, is present. On instructions, the learned Additional Government Pleader submitted that the petitioner has given a representation dated 22.04.2017 for police protection and the same is under consideration. 3.Recording the same, the respondents police are directed to consider the communal/caste and other law and order problem, if any prevailing in that area and thereafter take a decision as to whether to grant permission or refuse to grant permission, on merits, before the commencement of the festival on 25.05.2017. 4.With the above observation, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
