Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to renew the petitioner's existing licence in Licence No.8/99 granted by the second respondent for running and selling crackers in his shop situates at No.31/W21, Velappar Kovil Street, Cumbum, Uthamapalayam Taluk, Theni District for the year 2016-2017 and consider the petitioner's representation dated 28.09.2016 within the time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to renew the petitioner's existing licence in Licence No.8 of 1999 granted by the second respondent for running and selling crackers in his shop situates at No.31/W21, Velappar https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
Kovil Street, Cumbum, Uthamapalayam Taluk, Theni District for the year 2016-2017 and consider the petitioner's representation dated 28.09.2016 within a time frame.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.
3. By consent, the Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
4. According to the petitioner, he is having temporary licence for selling Crackers from the year 1999. This year also he filed an application before the second respondent/Revenue Divisional Officer on 18.02.2016, seeking renewal of his licence for the year 2016-2017. So far, the second respondent did not pass any orders. Since Deepavali festival is fast approaching, the petitioner has filed this Writ petition.
5. Since the said application is pending before the second respondent for a long time, the second respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's application for renewal the petitioner's licence for running his Crackers shop for the year 2016-2017, on or before 14.10.2016 and pass suitable orders.
6. With the above directions, the Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
