O R D E R

The petitioner sought a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to grant an extension of one year to complete the work entrusted under proceedings Na.Ka.No.140/2025/A2 dated 16.06.2025. 2.The petitioner had been awarded a contract for the removal of naturally grown Prosopis Juliflora (Seema Karuvelam) trees from the Kollidam riverbed belonging to the Water Resources Department. The contract was valid for one year from 16.06.2025. According to the petitioner, the work could not be completed within the stipulated period due to certain difficulties. Therefore, he submitted a representation dated 26.05.2026 seeking an extension of time. Since no orders were passed on the representation, the present writ petition was filed. 3.The learned Government Advocate, on instructions, submitted that the respondent would consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation on its merits within the time fixed by this Court. This submission was recorded.

4.Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's request, the Court directed the respondent to consider and dispose of the representation dated 26.05.2026 in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders.

5.The exercise shall be completed within four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the Court's order.

6.Accordingly, the writ petition was disposed of. No order as to costs.
