ORDER
The petitioner has approached this Court seeking a direction to the respondents to permit him to retrieve the movable properties and business articles lying inside Shop No.1, situated at Mangammal Chathiram Complex, opposite Madurai Railway Junction, Madurai, by considering his representation dated 25.05.2026.
2. The petitioner is one of the partners of a business firm carrying on business under the name and style of "A1 Chips" in Shop No.1 at Madurai. The petitioner was in occupation of the said shop. Since the building is in a dilapidated condition, the respondent Corporation has proposed to demolish it.
3. It is stated that the respondent Corporation has partially demolished the building in which the petitioner's shop is situated and thereafter locked and sealed the shop, as the firm did not come forward to hand over possession of the premises. The grievance of the petitioner is that the respondent Corporation is not permitting him to retrieve the 2/6
goods and articles lying inside the shop.
4. Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Corporation submitted that the petitioner would be permitted to retrieve the movable articles lying in the shop after notice is issued to the other partner of the firm.
5. The said submission is placed on record.
6. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to permit the petitioner to remove the available movable properties/business articles lying in the said shop, after issuing notice to the other partner of the firm.
