O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by T.RAJA,J.) This writ petition has been filed for the issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to give permission and adequate police protection for conducting cultural activities of Jallikattu on 29.05.2017, Theechatti Eduthal on 30.05.2017 and 'Valli Thirumanam' drama on 31.05.2017 in the eve of Vaikasi pongal Festival in front of Arulmigu 'Sri Kamatchiamman - Sree Karuppusamy Thirukoil situated at M.Keelapatti Village, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Mudhalaikulam Post, Usilampatti Taluk, Madurai District on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 08.05.2017. 2.When the matter came up for hearing, learned Special Government Pleader submitted that the petitioner has to approach the District Collector for conducting Jallikattu by way of an application.

3.We find that no such application has been made by the petitioner before the District Collector and the District Collector has also not been made as a party to the present writ petition. Therefore, the petitioner is directed to approach the District Collector for conducting Jallikattu by way of separate application.

4.With regard to Theechatti Eduthal on 30.05.2017 and 'Valli Thirumanam' drama on 31.05.2017 in the eve of Vaikasi Pongal Festival in front of Arulmigu 'Sri Kamatchiamman - Sree Karuppusamy Thirukoil situated at M.Keelapatti Village, Mudhalaikulam Post, Usilampatti Taluk, Madurai District, the respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner and grant permission subject to the conditions to be imposed for conducting the above festival.

5.The writ petition is accordingly, disposed of. No costs.
