This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to give permission for conducting Aadal Padal Dance Programme on 22.05.2017 and 23.05.2017 and give adequate police protection for peaceful performance of Vaikasi Pongal Festival scheduled to be conducted in the Arulmigu Sri.Muthalamman Temple belongs to Paduthanipatti, Sadayanpatti, Ponnamaravathi Taluk, Pudukkottai District on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 06.05.2017. 2.Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the festival of the said temple is scheduled to be held on 22.05.2017 and 23.05.2017. The petitioner and others have decided to organise
"Aadal Padal dance programme" in connection with "Arulmigu Sri.Muthalamman Temple belongs to Paduthanipatti, Sadayanpatti, Ponnamaravathi Taluk, Pudukkottai District", therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation, dated 06.05.2017, to the first and the second respondents, requesting them to grant permission therefor. Since no order has been passed on the said representation, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition, for the above mentioned relief.
3.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. 4.The Learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents, submitted that the respondents seek a weeks time to consider the pending representation made by the petitioner, after taking note of the prevailing situation and pass a suitable and reasonable order.
5.In view of the submissions made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, the respondents are hereby directed to consider the pending representation of the petitioner on merits and pass orders in accordance with law, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
