This is a writ of Mandamus seeking direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 28.07.2016 with regard to promotion to the post of Deputy Manager on par with her immediate junior with all consequential service and monetary benefits.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the respondents.

3.The petitioner was initially appointed as Junior Assistant in October, 1985. Thereafter, he was promoted as Assistant and once again as Special Grade Assistant and later as Superintendent from 26.01.2012. Thus, he has completed 31 years of service without any promotion. As per G.O.Ms.No.38, dated 23.11.2015, those who have rendered for not less than 24 years of service, in the cadre of Assistant, they are eligible for higher post and promotion.

4.It is the grievance of the petitioner that her juniors were given promotion, but the case of the petitioner was not considered. So stating a representation, dated 28.07.2016 has been submitted to the respondents, but there is no response. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition. 5.The learned counsel for the respondents would submit that it is agreeable for the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 28.07.2016 and to pass appropriate orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.Accordingly, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 28.07.2016 and to pass appropriate orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
