O R D E R

The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to renew and re-issue the passport to the petitioner, pursuant to his application vide File No. TR1077406036925 and Application Reference No.25-1001771503 dated 10.02.2025, pending on the file of the first respondent, within a reasonable time.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the second respondent-police. There is no representation on behalf of the first respondent, although notice has been taken by the Panel Counsel from the Registry.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the second respondent submits that the petitioner is Accused No.4 in Crime No.95 of 2020, registered by the second respondent police for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 147, 294(b), 323, 506(1), 269, and 271 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860. It is also confirmed by the Page No. 2 of 4

learned Government Advocate that the FIR is still at the stage of investigation and that the charge sheet has not yet been filed. Therefore, no case is presently pending before the Court.

4. In view of the above submission, I see no impediment in directing the first respondent to renew and re-issue the passport to the petitioner, based on the application filed on 10.02.2025, as expeditiously as possible. However, before travelling abroad, the petitioner shall obtain necessary certificate from the second respondent police.

5. With the above observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
