: Respondents Prayer: This Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to fill up 25% of vacancy, out of the total existing vacancy, of Nutritious Meal Scheme Organizers on promotion from the post of serving cook and cooking assistants in Madurai District as per the G.O.No.163 dated 18.08.2010 Social Welfare and Nutritious Meal Scheme (2) Department issued by the first respondent.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to fill up 25% of vacancy, out of the total existing vacancy for the post of Nutritious Meal Scheme Organizers on promotion from the post of serving cook and cooking assistants in Madurai District as per the G.O.No.163 dated 18.08.2010 Social Welfare and Nutritious Meal Scheme (2) Department issued by the first respondent.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner.

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing on 17.05.2017, the learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondents submitted that some clarification was required in this case and hence, the matter is posted today.

4. Today, the learned Government Advocate would submit that there were 245 vacancies available for being filled up for the post of Noon Meal Organiser out of which 61 posts are to be filled by by promotion. It is further stated that of the 61 vacancies to be so filled up only 27 have been filled up and 34 vacancies remained to be filled up.

5. The learned Government Advocate further submitted that the on going process is to fill up remaining 75% through direct recruitment and no process has been yet initiated for filling up the balance vacancies by promotion.

6. Recording the said submission, the Writ Petition is disposed up. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is also closed.
