: Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 4 to give electricity service connection to the petitioner's house property bearing Door No.1/244, North Navinipatti, Navinipatti Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai District, considering the petitioner's representations dated 29.08.2016.

O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing respondents 1 to 4 to give electricity service connection to the petitioner's house property bearing Door No.1/244, North Navinipatti, Navinipatti Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai District, by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 29.08.2016.

2.Mrs.S.Srimathy, learned counsel, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3.It is the case of the petitioner that she purchased a vacant site measuring 6 cents in Ayan Punjai Survey No.176/2 of Navinipatty Village, Melur Taluk in Madurai District through a registered sale deed and she got patta for the same. She constructed a pucca building in the vacant land and the same was properly assessed for house tax by the Navinipatti Village Panchayat and she has also paid the house tax regularly. With the copy of the registered sale deed dated 14.09.1981 in order to show the title and the tax receipt in order to show the possession and other certificates for the purpose of identity, the petitioner has sent a representation dated 29.08.2016 through registered post, requesting the respondents to provide electricity service connection and the same has been received by the respondents.

As the request was not considered, this writ petition has been filed. 4.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the granddaughter of the petitioner, namely Yalini, is studying tenth standard and in order to successfully complete her education, the electricity service connection is immediately required. 5.The learned counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that it is agreeable for the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner and to pass appropriate orders within a period of two weeks.

6.Recording the submission made by the learned counsel for the respondents, the fourth respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 29.08.2016 and to pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
