The writ petition has been filed to call for the records of the impugned order passed by the 3rd respondent in No.Nil, dated 15.05.2017 and quash the same as illegal and consequently, to direct the 3rd respondent to conduct the peace meeting by giving proper opportunity for both the parties and by perusing relevant records.

2.In connection with a dispute over the temple festival between two groups in the village, there was a peace committee constituted by the revenue authorities. This and similar other cases are classical testimony of the attitude of those, who wanted to celebrate the temple festival.

3.The only grievance of the petitioner is that earlier there was a civil litigation, which was disposed of finally by the civil court and that the revenue authorities during the peace committee meeting attempted to settle some issues overlooking the judgment of the civil court made in A.S.No.58 of 1970 on the file of the District Court, Madurai.

4.In view of the above facts, the revenue authorities are directed to convene a peace committee meeting and while resolving the issue may also consider the judgment rendered in A.S.No.58 of 1970 referred to above and pass fresh orders. Till such orders are passed, the present peace committee resolution will be in force. 5.Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed. Sd/- Vacation Officer /True Copy/ Sub Assistant Registrar To
