ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to give adequate police protection to the petitioner based on the Judgment dated 05.12.2017 made in O.A No. 372 of 2012, on the file of the Additional District Munsif Court -I, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari. 2.When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submitted that based on the petitioner's representation, 2/5

dated 08.08.2022, CSR.No.1135 of 2022 has been assigned and the same is pending for further enquiry.

3.Recording the same, the second respondent is directed to take suitable action on the representation, dated 08.08.2022, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, in the light of Rule 21 of Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, which runs as follows:

'21. Action plan for the protection of life and property of Senior Citizens.- (1)The District Superintendent of Police and in the case of cities having a Police Commissioner, such Police Commissioner shall take all necessary steps, subject to such guidelines as the Government may issue from time to time for the protection of life and property of senior citizens.'

4.With the above direction, this criminal original petition stands disposed of.
