Respondent PRAYER: Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to issue a fresh certificate of registration in the name of Tamil Nadu Mercantile Bank, Chikkandarchavadi Branch for the vehicle bearing registration number TAU 1008- Ashok Leyland AL tanker (lorry) in the light of the representation, dated 17.05.2017, within a reasonable time period to be fixed by this Court. The petitioner seeks for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to issue a fresh certificate of registration in the name of Tamil Nadu Mercantile Bank, Chikkandarchavadi Branch for the vehicle bearing registration number TAU 1008- Ashok Leyland AL tanker (lorry) in the light of the representation, dated 17.05.2017, within a reasonable time period to be fixed by this Court.

2. Mr.A.Muthu Karuppan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondent. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice if the representation of the petitioner is directed to be disposed of, on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

4. In view of the limited scope of the prayer, without going into the merits of the matter, the respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 17.05.2017, on merits and in accordance with law after providing an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner as well as the other parties concerned, if any, and pass appropriate orders within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No Costs.
