Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to ensure and proceed the land acquisition proceedings only for 25 Sq.m alone in respect of the petitioner land and building in survey no.17 located at Sathamangalam Village, Block No.2, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai for the land acquisition proceedings by considering the petitioner representation dated 03.04.2025.

ORDER
This writ petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondents to acquire only 25 Sq.m of the petitioner's land situated in survey no.17 located at Sathamangalam Village, Block No.2, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai by considering the petitioner's representation dated 03.04.2025.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mrs.S.Jeya Priyan, learned Government Advocate who takes notice for the respondents.

3. By consent of both the parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
4. According to the petitioner, the respondents issued notification under the Tamil Nadu Highways Act on 06.09.2024 for acquiring 25 Sq.m of the petitioner's land situated in survey no.17 located at Sathamangalam Village, Block No.2, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai. However, at the time of taking possession, the respondents attempted to take more than 25 Sq.m of the petitioner's land. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation on 03.04.2025, requesting the respondents to confine acquisition of 25 Sq.m of the petitioner's land as per the notification issued under the relevant act. The said representation has not been considered. Hence the petitioner is before this Court, seeking the above mentioned prayer.
5. When the writ petition is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate who takes notice for the respondents on written instructions from the 1st respondent in his proceedings in f/vz;/tHf;F vz;/16779/2025/,tm/ dated 23.06.2025 would submit that the 3/8
respondent has acquired only 25 Sq.m of land in the above mentioned survey numbers. Along with written instructions, a plan earmarking proposed acquisition site with the measurement is also enclosed with calculations. The statement made by the learned Government Advocate based on the written instructions is recorded. Accordingly, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
