The petitioner seeks for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 to take action against the 4th respondent for illegally broadcasting the unlicensed local cable channels in Theni District within the period that may be stipulated by this Court.

2.The learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice if the representation of the petitioner is disposed of, on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

4.In view of the limited scope of the prayer, without going into the merits of the matter, the first respondent is directed to consider the representations dated 04.05.2017 and 05.05.2017 after giving opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner as well as the fourth respondent on merits and in accordance with law, and pass appropriate orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, W.M.P.(MD) No.7357 of 2017 is closed.
