Respondents PRAYER:Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to take into account 12 years of service rendered by the petitioner as constable in the CRPF course for the purpose of seniority and pensionary benefits in the Tamil Nadu Police Department particularly fix the seniority of the petitioner in the list of Inspectors promoted on 21.09.2016 in the appropriate place. The petitioner seeks to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to take into account 12 years of service rendered by the petitioner as constable in the CRPF course for the purpose of seniority and pensionary benefits in the Tamil Nadu Police Department particularly fix the seniority of the petitioner in the list of Inspectors promoted on 21.09.2016 in the appropriate place.

2.The learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice if the representation of the petitioner is directed to be disposed of, on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

4.In view of the limited scope of the prayer, without going into the merits of the matter, respondents are directed to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner, dated 09.05.2017, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after providing an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner.

5.With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
