ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to quash the impugned Check Slip dated 08.04.2025 and consequently to direct the respondent to register the settlement deed dated 14.02.2025.

2. In the impugned order, the respondents have questioned the genuineness of the Will.

3. As the registering authority, the respondent cannot question the genuineness of the Will, which is impermissible in law.

4. Therefore, the impugned Check Slip dated 08.04.2025 is hereby quashed. The respondent is directed to register the settlement deed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. However, the petitioner is directed to produce the original Will before the registering authority at the time of registration.

5. With the above observations, this Writ Petition is allowed. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
