O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to settle the petitioner's surrender leave salary of Rs.3,24,882/- for 135 days together with interest at the rate of 6 percent per annum payable from the date of his retirement to till the date of actual payment.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The petitioner was appointed as Junior Assistant in the respondent Corporation on 11.05.1998 and he retired from service on 31.05.2023. However, his surrender leave salary was not paid, due to paucity of fund. The petitioner has sent a representation on 18.03.2025, seeking the above said benefits. So far, there is no response from the authorities, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. Considering the above said facts, the respondents herein are directed to disburse the eligible surrender leave salary of the writ 2/5

petitioner along with 6% interest from the due date till the date of disbursement within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
