Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to remove the encroachment made by the fifth respondent in the Government Poromboke Puliyur Canal in S.No.1184, 1185, 1186 & 1204 and Government Poromboke Paethi canal in S.Nos.1182 and 1186 in Sanapiratti Village on considering the petitioner's representation dated 26.12.2024 and on considering the second respondent's letter dated 07.02.2025 to the first respondent. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the official respondents.
2. The petitioner is an agriculturist. He is a resident of Korakkaattu Valasu Village. He alleges that on account of the encroachment in the petition mentioned survey numbers, his agricultural activities are being affected as he is not being able to get water.

3. When the matter was taken up for admission, the learned Special Government Pleader confirmed that the petition mentioned survey numbers have been classified as water bodies.
4. In this view of the matter, we direct the first respondent to conduct survey. Notice will be issued to all the interested persons & encroachers before conducting survey. If the survey results indicate that there are encroachments, the same will be removed by adhering to due process of law. All the encroachers will be given due opportunity before taking any coercive action. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
