ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus as against the first respondent herein to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 09.04.2025 and to conduct an enquiry and issue necessary report to the Regional Passport Officer, Koramangala, Bengaluru for renewal of the petitioner's passport based upon the application dated 18.02.2025.

According to the learned counsel appearing for the first respondent, the petitioner has obtained a passport for a period of 10 years covering 1998 to 2008 from the Chennai Passport Office showing Puducherry address. There is no dispute with regard to this passport. However, a passport has been issued in the name of the writ petitioner from the Trichy Passport Office showing the address of the writ petitioner at Ramanathapuram for the period covering 2001 to 2011. Thereafter, the petitioner has approached the Indian Embassy at Frankfurt, Germany and got the passport renewal (passport issued by the Chennai Office) for the period covering 2008 to 2018. Now the petitioner has approached the Regional Passport Office, Bengaluru with an application dated 18.02.2025 for renewal of his passport.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the first respondent further submits that an enquiry has already been conducted by the Bazaar Police Station, Ramanathapuram and the enquiry report has already been forwarded to the Passport Office at Regional Passport Office at 3/6
Bengaluru on 22.10.2025. Paragraph No.4 of the additional affidavit filed by the first respondent is extracted as follows:- "4. I state that as per the status report filed by the Inspector of Police, Bazaar Police Station, Ramanthapuram, before this Court, it was informed that no one by the name of Jayakumar lives at the address namely 12A, Justin Colony, Ramanathapuram. As per the verification of available reports in our office, it was found that the passport was issued in the name of Mr.Jayakumar S/o.Soundararadjalour, after getting pre-police verification report in the passport number B5444921 dated 22.05.2001. The said fact with relevant papers are scanned on 22.10.2025 in the petitioner's file vide Application No.BN1077418012525 which is now pending before the Regional Passport Office, Koramangala, Bengaluru. The matter was intimated to Regional Passport Office, Bengaluru through e-mail. The counter affidavit filed by me before this Court dated 12.11.2025 may be treated as part and parcel of this affidavit."
4. In such view of the matter, the petitioner has to approach the passport office at Bengaluru for consideration of his request for re-issuance of the passport based upon the report already submitted by the Passport Office at Trichy.

5. With the said observations, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
