Heard both sides.

2. The petitioner's mother Ilami passed away on 27.09.2017. The death was due to electrocution. She left behind two legal heirs; the petitioner and one Valarmathi. The petitioner seeks compensation.

3. Even though the fourth respondent has filed counter affidavit denying the liability, I am inclined to invoke the Board proceedings dated 16.10.2019 issued by the TANGEDCO which provides for payment of a sum of Rs.5 Lakhs in fatal cases. Respondents 2 to 4 herein are directed to pay a sum of Rs.2 1⁄2 Lakhs to the petitioner and the remaining sum of Rs.2 1⁄2 Lakhs to his sibling Valarmarthi. This shall be done by TANGEDCO within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This writ petition stands allowed. The petitioner and sibling shall furnish their bank account details to the third respondent in the meanwhile. No costs.
