Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to grant permission to conduct Mamannar Maruthu Pandian Ilaignar Peravai Pongal Festival on 24.10.2016 at 6.00 AM to 7 AM and give adequate police protection in connection with the Pongal festival of Mamannar Maruthu Pandian Ilaignar Peravai at Thiruppathur, Sivagangai District on the basis of the petitioner's representation on 07.10.2016.

O R D E R

The writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to grant permission to conduct Mamannar Maruthu Pandian Ilaignar Peravai Pongal Festival on 24.10.2016 at 6.00 AM to 7 AM and give adequate police protection in connection with the Pongal festival of Mamannar Maruthu Pandian Ilaignar Peravai at Thiruppathur, Sivagangai District on the basis of the petitioner's representation on 07.10.2016.

2.Mr.K.P.Krishna Doss, learned Government Advocate, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent and also perused the materials on record.

4. Though the petitioner has prayed for a relief of mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission and protection for Pongal festival of Mamannar Maruthu Pandian Ilaignar Peravai at Thiruppathur, Sivagangai District scheduled https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

to be held on 24.10.2016, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice to issue direction to the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 07.10.2016.

5.Considering the submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner, the first respondent, the Superintendent of Police, Sivagangai shall dispose of the petitioner's representation, dated 07.10.2016 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law on or before 23.10.2016.

6.Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
